Clean Boats Clean Water
The Lake Association made a change to this program in 2013. While they continued to use volunteers at the public landings, this year there was a paid staff person. Here are some statistics from the summer program as provided by Rick Bazille-coordinator. Thru 7/28/13, a total of 213 hours were spent monitoring for invasive species. A total of 588 boats had been checked with a mind boggling 1462 people being made aware of how species can be transferred from lake to lake. The busiest day was July 4 with over 150 people being contacted. High School students have taken over the monitoring for the rest of the season. Thanks to Rick for taking on this very important program!
