Curlyleaf Pond Weed

Curlyleaf is rapidly becoming the invasive species we love to hate. After four years of chemical treatment to specific beds, there is still no good understanding of how this plant affects our lakes.

In 2012, the District & Lake Assn again contracted for herbicide spray on specific beds. Following treatment our consultant, Ecological Integrity of Amery, found virtually no affect on the plant. The District has decided to seek other means of eradication such as a weed harvester in the future. We will conduct another plant survey this summer to determine if the CLP is increasing its hold. The Plant Committee which worked on the original Aquatic Mgmt Plan will reconvene following that survey to determine our next steps.
